The SDX5400W is an AIT-5 tape carefully formulated by data storage giant, Sony. The main difference between this and the SDX5-400C AIT5 media cartridge is that the SDX5-400W is a W.O.R.M (Write Once Read Many) tape. This means that if you are using the WORM tapes, you will not be able to remove the data that you written on it the first time you use it. You may however add/remove the data from Sony SDX5-400C rewritable cartridges.
